All residents of Mountain Lakes are entitled to a library card that can be used at any library in Morris County, free of charge. Lost cards may be replaced for $2. Children may have a card when they are in the first grade. A parent must sign each child’s registration card and is responsible for all materials borrowed on the card.

Non-residents who are employed in Mountain Lakes may be entitled to a Courtesy Card at no charge for a period of one year. It can be used for materials and services in the Mountain Lakes Library and the Morris County Library only. This privilege may be renewed.

Teachers in the Mountain Lakes School District, and all Mountain Lakes High School students, are eligible for a full-service library card, regardless of residency. This card must be renewed annually.

Boonton Township residents may purchase a full-service Family Membership Card. The annual fee for this card is $250 and is set by the Main Library Alliance (a consortia of 49 New Jersey libraries) and the Mountain Lakes Library Board of Trustees.

When applying for a library card, please bring 2 proofs of address (for example, a valid driver’s license and a utility bill).

Please present your card to borrow materials.
